Srinagar, Jan 06 (KNO): The restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir is not an act of kindness but a rightful due, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani said on Monday, emphasizing the region’s integral status as the “crown of the country.” As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), CM's Advisor while speaking to reporters during a visit to Kupwara district, reiterated the central government’s commitment to restoring J&K’s statehood. “Statehood restoration is not a favor but our right. Both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister have assured its restoration on the floor of the Parliament and we trust their word,” he said. Advisor Nasir also highlighted the positive relations between the central and the J&K government, which he said are yielding constructive responses. “People have expectations from the government and rightly so they have seen people’s representation after years. We are working to bridge the gaps and assure them that the government remains committed to its promises. All that is needed is patience,” he added. Notably, the Advisor was on a review visit to Kupwara post recent snowfall. He expressed satisfaction with the district administration’s response. “The administration has performed well in restoring essential services and we have sensitized them to prepare for the upcoming weather conditions,” he said—(KNO)
